Challenge
Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes® has more than 50 years of history and culinary tradition. Popeyes® distinguishes itself with a unique New Orleans style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and other regional ingredients. The chain’s passion for its Louisiana heritage and flavourful authentic food has allowed Popeyes® to become one of the world’s largest chicken quick-service restaurants with over 3,700 restaurants in the U.S. and around the world.
Popeyes® at the Metrocentre opened in August 2022, marking their first restaurant in the north of England and third standalone restaurant in UK.
Approach
Popeyes® appointed Twist to deliver its hyper-local launch campaign that complemented their wider PR strategy delivered by their London agency.
The scope of work included influencer outreach, regional PR, launch event planning and local business integration through a pre-launch Chicken Drop activation. Popeyes® were looking to access influential communities in the region to raise awareness, build hype, educate audiences, create conversations and generate positive word of mouth.
